Add a touch of scent
Each card is gently infused with a premium essential or fragrance oil that bonds beautifully with the natural grain of the timber. The scent is deliberately subtle — a soft moment of delight when the card is opened, never something that overwhelms the room.
Because wood is a living, porous material, the fragrance slowly diffuses over time. Most scents last around 2 weeks; airflow, handling, and humidity can make them fade a little faster or slower. Every card absorbs scent slightly differently, which is part of the charm of working with real timber rather than printed paper.
Care & Longevity
Your card will age gracefully, much like any wooden keepsake. To help it stay looking its best:
• Keep it out of direct sun, which can speed up both scent fade and natural colour change.
• Avoid placing it in damp or humid areas — timber prefers a dry perch.
• If the card becomes dusty, a gentle wipe with a dry cloth is all it needs.
The fragrance isn’t meant to last forever, but the message and the engraving certainly are.
Fragrance Safety
Our fragrance oils are vegan, cruelty-free, and free from fillers or unnecessary additives. They’re designed to be used in handcrafted items like our wooden cards and are applied in very small amounts for a gentle, pleasant aroma.
- Although the scent is light, we recommend the following safety notes:
- For external use only. The fragrance is not intended to be applied to skin or ingested.
- Avoid contact with eyes and mouth.
- Keep out of reach of young children and pets. Timber absorbs fragrance, so it’s best treated like any scented decorative item.
- Store in a cool, dry place. Excess heat or sunlight may alter the scent more quickly.
- Discontinue use if irritation occurs. Some individuals may be sensitive to fragrance materials, even at low levels.
- Do not place the card directly against delicate fabrics. Light oil transfer is unlikely but possible with porous materials.
- All oils may contain jojoba oil used as a carrier to help with longevity
- Our scent levels follow standard guidelines for decorative, non-cosmetic products and are intentionally subtle to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience.
